It’s in the genes // Rhonda Giadolor, pictured here with fellow teammate, Makayha Jenkins, freshman. Rhonda, who plays many sports, says that she gets her athletic ability from her family. “Truly my love for sports came from my brothers. My whole life I watched them plays sports like basketball and run track and because of that, I had a strong urge to go out of my way and play sports also. I believe that being apart of a sports team in school is one of the best feelings to experience.” said Rhonda Giadolor, sophomore.

Flipping with pride // The Lady Hawks gymnasts took the honor of District Champions this past week against Rockwall and several other schools. Several members of the team placed in multiple categories from all over the state. “It was such a great feeling to win districts. My vault score even contributed towards the team score! It was a meet where we pushed ourselves and it showed, and that made winning that much sweeter, said Kate Seifer, sophomore.

Lights, camera, action // Theatre serves as a big part of Emersons school life but it is not just limited to school. Theatre, for her, extends into her life outside of Heath High and she enjoys it. Theatre for me is a great way for me to be myself and act with my friends. Its a really fun and enjoyable time and Im so glad I did it, said Emerson Witherspoon, sophomore.

A multi-talented student // After coming home from a long school day, Mia finds her path away from stress through music or friends and family. I have always loved music ever since I was little so I began to play interments. Working out some problems// Arena Scheduling is a detailed process that can begin to get confusing to students and staff; But, after adjusting some issues, it is an excellent way of providing students freedom to pick their own classes and it eases up the workload of counselors by giving each student an opportunity to personalize their own schedule. “I like the concept of arena scheduling, however it’s super stressful...I think they make it fairly easy for what it is though. I like being able to make multiple schedules ahead of time just incase the classes I want fill up,” said Courtney Thompson, sophomore.

Expressing creativity// Heath High School is one of the 21 schools that is represented in the 2019 Rockwall ISD District Art Show. Families and friends can come view the art of students throughout all of Rockwall. “The District Art show is an amazing opportunity that enables the students of Rockwall ISD to showcase their artwork to the community. I really enjoy seeing the entire district coming together exhibiting various forms of art, both 2D and 3d, from K-12th grade,” said Julia Deleon.
