Hawks Advance to Area
After five years, the Hawks are back in the Area Round.
For the first time since 2015, the Rockwall-Heath Hawks have advanced to the Area Round, in hopes of reaching the 6A Div. II Region II Semifinal.
Last Friday, the Hawks took on the Garland Owls, beating them 42-14 at Wilkerson Sanders Memorial Stadium. Zach Evans, Preston Landis, Jay Fair, and Josh Hoover each contributed to the win in touchdowns, allowing the Hawks to become Bi-District Champions, advancing to the next round of playoff football. Tomorrow night, the Hawks will face off against the Temple Wildcats, hoping to win and move on to the next round.

For the Hawks, the Spradlin Era seems to have created a completely new team and identity in the football program, with the Hawks going 8-2 just this past season. Playoff football hasn’t been experienced by any of the players on this current team until last Friday, and the Hawks seem to be handling the pressure well. The Temple Wildcats are also a familiar team to Coach Mike Spradlin, who coached the team for five years, taking the team to the state championship in 2014.

This week, against Temple, the Hawks are looking to keep the momentum going, hopefully going into Winter Break with a win on December 18th at Baylor’s McLane Stadium in Waco.
