Down, set, hut-hut-hut! Why did the football coach go to the bank? To get his quarterback, Jackson Van Bevers.

Senior Jackson Van Bevers is the quarterback on the Heath varsity football team. Who has been playing football for a long time.

“I have been playing football since I was 8 years old” quoted Jackson.

Being the quarterback has many jobs to be accountable for, such as, calls the signals, direct the offensive of the team and line up behind the center. Being the quarterback you have to be a leader for the team.

“Being quarterback is probably one of the more difficult positions out there, you can’t ever get down on yourself because other people are always watching you and they will always react how you react” said Jackson.

Jackson is considered a well, hardworking player to others that have knowledge in what he does for the team.

“Jackson has had a solid year leading the Hawks. He has a great touch on his passes and makes good decisions in the pocket.” said Micheal Parks, Heath Sports Broadcaster.

Being a quarterback gives several opportunities that can possibly shape one as a person and be helpful for the future, just like Jackson has accomplished.

“I have created lifelong relationships with my teammates and coaches” stated Jackson.

Being in football gives life lessons that are priceless. Many students are better people for themselves and others for being apart of football during their high school careers by the life lessons it teaches.

“Football is a life sport, it teaches you all about life from never quitting to building a great work ethic and determination” expressed Van Bevers.

Jackson has many fans that cheer him on and love to see him play on the field whether its friends or family.

“I loved watching Jackson out on the field. He works hard and never gives up” quoted Sydnie Taylor.

Being the quarterback for any team can be stressful, never mind being the quarterback on a high school team.

No matter what happens on offense it’s always going to be my fault…we lose its the quarterbacks fault. Every mistake made on the field is my fault” said Jackson Van Bevers.
