A Quick Rundown: Homecoming 2020

Homecoming Week will be a little different this year.

Though COVID-19 has stopped our annual Homecoming dance, it won’t completely stop our yearly festivities.

October 26th through the 30th is officially Homecoming Week, beginning with spirit dress-up days and capped off by mums and of course, football. The overarching theme for this year’s Homecoming is “Midnight Masquerade”, and spirit dress-up days will go as follows:

Monday, October 26th & Thursday, October 29th: “Suit Up For HOCO” — wear your favorite sports jersey, any team or sport.

Tuesday, October 27th & Friday, October 30th: “Mum Day” — wear your mum, your homecoming shirt, and your mask.

This year, due to hybrid scheduling, spirit days are split into two halves, one for Group A and one for Group B. RHHS Stuco will decorate the school as done in past years.

Homecoming Court voting and nominations have already been carried out, and will be announced sometime soon. As for this year’s parade, things will also be different from last year. A reverse parade will be held in the RHHS student parking lot, in which drivers will circle and follow a parade path around stationery floats in the parking lot. Gates will open at 6:00 P.M. More information regarding regulations is on this PDF document from RHHS Stuco.

As always, Homecoming Week ends with a homecoming football game. The Hawks take on Mesquite Horn on October 30th, at 7:30 P.M. Unfortunately, we will not be able to have a homecoming dance this year — but we still have these festivities to look forward to.
