The Act is a new series on Hulu, that has caught many peoples attention on the life of Gypsy Rose Blanchard. The Act is a true crime series based on a true story that only has one season and eight episodes, as of right now.

Dee Blanchard is a mom to Gypsy Blanchard, who makes Gypsy believe that she has multiple health problems for 18 years, so that her mom can continue to take care of her. Dee tells Gypsy that she suffered from leukemia, asthma, muscle dystrophy and many other underlying health conditions. Her mother claimed that she had the “mental capacity of a seven year old”.

“The show is really interesting to see how someone can act in that way, and how the mom was able to make Gypsy believe she was sick for her 18 years of living” said senior Eliza Green.

Some people are against the show because it is fabricated a little bit to make the series more dramatic. With the show being more dramatic, it makes you feel more bad for Gypsy in the way of her being treated by her mother.

“I think the show is good but I don’t like how most of it is not completely accurate,” said Rylie

Wheeler.

Dee Blanchard got away with the unbelievable crime she was commiting by never letting Gypsy speak for herself at doctor appointments. She brainwashed Gypsy not letting her have her own voice and letting everyone around her believe the same.

“I think it’s a good show but it is baffling that it is a real story that someone could do that, especially to their child,” said Kate Welch.
